Visiting the places your family once called home
Visiting the places where your family once lived can be one of the most meaningful experiences of a journey to Poland. Whether you are returning to an ancestral town, visiting a family cemetery, meeting relatives or simply walking the streets connected to your family's history, I will help you create a personalised heritage experience with care, sensitivity and respect.
I have accompanied many visitors from around the world on journeys to towns and villages across southern Poland, helping them reconnect with places that hold deep personal significance. Each itinerary is individually planned around your interests and the locations you wish to visit. If appropriate, I can also assist in arranging visits to local cemeteries, archives, municipal offices or meetings with local contacts.
How the day unfolds
- Hotel Pick-UpCollection from your hotel in Krakow.
- Private TransferTo your ancestral town or village — typically within about 120 km of Krakow, though the itinerary can be customised for other destinations.
- Places Connected to Your FamilyVisiting the streets, buildings and sites tied to your family's history.
- Local ArrangementsAssistance with cemeteries, archives, municipal offices or local contacts, where possible.
- Return to KrakowBack to your hotel at the end of the day.
Please Note
This experience is designed for guests who already know the location they wish to visit. It does not include genealogical research before your arrival. However, I am happy to assist with planning your visit, identifying important locations and coordinating local arrangements whenever possible.
If your family's hometown is located further from Krakow, or you are planning a multi-day heritage journey, I would be delighted to create a fully customised itinerary tailored to your needs.
Before You Book
To ensure the best possible experience, I recommend contacting me before your trip and sharing any information you already have about your family's history. Even small details — such as names, addresses or photographs — can help shape a more meaningful visit.
