Beyond Dates & Landmarks

Once one of Europe's centres of Jewish life

Explore the rich history of Jewish Krakow on a private walking tour through Kazimierz and the former Jewish Ghetto. Once one of the most important centres of Jewish life in Europe, Kazimierz is a place where centuries of history, tradition and culture continue to shape the city's identity.

Jewish heritage is at the heart of my work, and I invite you to discover this remarkable district beyond the dates and landmarks. As we walk through its historic streets, synagogues and hidden courtyards, I will share the stories of the people who helped shape Jewish Krakow — including Rabbi Moses Isserles (the Remuh), Helena Rubinstein and Sarah Schenirer, founder of the Bais Yaakov movement.

During our tour, we will visit the Remuh Synagogue and its historic cemetery, as well as the Old Synagogue Museum, offering a deeper understanding of Jewish life in Krakow before the Second World War. We will then cross the Vistula River to explore the site of the former Jewish Ghetto in Podgórze, where we will discuss the tragic events of the Holocaust and the resilience of the local Jewish community.
